This
is an historic reunion of old friends and musicians dating
back to the late 60's / early 70's who have never stopped
playing great music ... If you never got to see guitarist
Jimmy Thackery with the Nighthawks or with his band 'The
Drivers', here's your chance ... along with some of the
best musicians around the D.C. area.
Good
friend and fellow musician, Jimmy Cole, took a fall from
a deck a few months ago and not only punctured a lung and
broke 7 ribs, he accumulated over $55,000 in medical bills.
His long life friend Jimmy Thackery was the first to jump
at the chance to put a benefit show together with some of
his and Jimmy C's old pickin' pals from the old and recents
days in D.C. area. Emcee for the evening will be another
mutual friend, Tom "Cat" Reeder - the legendary
DJ "voice of the Blue Ridge".
Jimmy Thackery & the Drivers will kick off the show
at 5:30pm at the historic State Theatre in Falls Church,
VA for what is deemed to be an incredible and memoriable
evening of music from legendary musicians, including the
talented guitarist and singer, Randy Waller, son of one
of the pioneers of folk/bluegrass music, the late Charlie
Waller - founding member of the Country Gentlemen which
was no stranger to the State Theatre.
