THE HAGAR’S MOUNTAIN BOYS - Forever Yours

Forever Yours is a good, solid release from The Hagar’s Mountain Boys, based out of Roxboro, North Carolina. This project is impressive for the variety of material. One surprising entry, which works extremely well in the bluegrass treament given it by these guys, is the Travis Tritt hit, Anymore. On the other end of the spectrum is a nice a capella number, Lord, Don’t Leave Me Here, which serves well to demonstrate their vocal prowess. Waiting To Hear You Call Me Darling has rarely been done so well. The Boys are Blake Johnson, upright bass; Cliff Smith, banjo; Mike Johnson, guitar; Ricky Stroud,mandolin. These guys are great and deserve to be presented on a major bluegrass label. – BMP
