Shane Norman (Lead vocals, mandolin)

Shane resides in Hazel Green, Alabama with his wife Cari daughters Neeley and Audrey. Shane sings lead vocals and plays the mandolin. He is a founding member of the The Soul Pickers. When he is not playing with the TSP he enjoys playing softball with his girls and jamming with his friends in Lynchburg. Shane is a graduate of Hazel Green High School and a member of Huntland First Baptist Church.

Buddy Mason (Vocals/guitar)

Buddy grew up listening to his dad's bluegrass band that jammed on the barn porch at the family farm. As soon as he was big enough to hold an upright bass, Buddy started sitting in with the band.

Singing in church all his life, Buddy started singing and playing bass in area southern gospel groups. After graduation from high school in 1991 he attended Middle Tennessee State University.

While at MTSU, Buddy started getting his foot in the door in Nashville recording demos for numerous songwriters and was also writing his own material.

In April 1993 he signed a development recording contract with BNA Records. In 1995 Buddy recorded a top 10 single ("Leavin' You") for Independent Radio. He spent 8 years with the bluegrass band Out and Runnin' that was based out of Lynchburg, Tennessee. Buddy has two beautiful kids, Olivia and Noah.

Lorne Wilde (Bass)

Lorne recently joined the Soul Pickers in 2009 and plays bass fiddle for the group. His music experience had its early beginnings in the rural community of Earl Grey, Saskatchewan where he was born and raised. By the age of 12 he was playing gigs with a country/pop dance band with brothers and friends.

Lorne graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Science. His engineering career took him to all corners of the world including USA, Canada, England, Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, Scandinavian countries, Russia, Japan and South Korea.

He moved to Tennessee in 1994 and, because of a generous dosage of local bluegrass music activity, decided to take up playing bass fiddle. Today, he not only enjoys playing bass with the Soul Pickers but also plays bass and is a founding member of the bluegrass band, Out and Runnin’.




 






Wayne Clemons

Wayne grew up a fan of southern gospel quartet singing. He began learning to play bass guitar at the age of twelve. Through high school he was a member of several different bands, at different times playing rock, country and gospel. His first professional job was bass guitarist for Ernie Couch and Revival, a southern gospel quartet based in Nashville, TN. While with EC&R, he was afforded the opportunity to record in several studios on Music Row in Nashville and worked with several people like Ben Speer of the Speer family, Robbie & Laverne Tripp, and the legendary Jake Hess as well as several others. With EC&R he also traveled the country and part of Canada. In 2004, Wayne became part of the Soul Pickers. He played bass and sang tenor for them until then end of 2008 when he left to take time off after the birth of his son.

Wayne is married to Lois and together they have one son, Daniel. Wayne says, "Without the support of my wife, I could not do what I love to do. She and Daniel are truly the inspiration in my life." Wayne is a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church in Vanntown, Tn. When not playing music, Wayne loves to spend time with his family. He also enjoys watching hockey and studying about instrument making and luthiery.

When asked about his return to the BGSP, Wayne had this to say:
"I am very excited to get the opportunity to return to the line-up and be a part of such a quality band. The new project is awesome and that's really one of the things that helped me make the decision to return to the music that I love. I am looking forward to playing and singing with these guys. All of the guys are excellent musicians and men. It's truly and honor to be back playing with Soul Pickers."

 






 

 

 

Emery Beechey (Bus driver)

Emery was born in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where he lived and grew up on a beef ranch. His father was overseer for a herd of 300 beef cattle and a flock of 200 sheep. As a young boy he enjoyed riding in the cattle truck as they took cattle to one ranch for the summer and back to the home ranch for the winter. Later his father started a dairy farm and Emery got in on milking cows, which to him, was not fun! He did enjoy getting the fields ready for crops, driving the farm machinery and helping neighboring farmers during hay season.

At the age of 16, he moved with his parents to Tennessee where he worked on a construction crew until the age of 20. He then moved to Pennsylvania where he spent time in a V.S. unit where he was maintenance man at a Christian retreat for troubled people. After that he started driving a dump truck, operated hay equipment, did some logging, and drove a truck rig. Being in the the 'driver's seat' was his love and joy.

In 1996, he married Ida Mae and a year later God blessed them with a son, Madison. Ee mery and Ida Madrove trucks together for ahwile, taking the little boy with them. In 2000, another boy, Stewart, was added to the family and when he was a year old they moved back to Tennessee.

Emery hauled storage buildings and through this started building playsets for children, which is now his livelihood. He enjoys designing new styles and takes pride in having satisfied customers.

Two daughters have also been born into the family, Pauline and Veronica. Emery lives on a small farmette so he has a place for a few animals and pets to enjoy with his children.

Emery was blessed when he met The Soul Pickers. They helped fulfill a truck driving dream of his when they asked him to come on board to becom the "Official" SOUL PICKERS BUS DRIVER.
